SYNOPSIS:

The ballet tells the final chapter of the Rapunzel tale as the heroine is reunited with her recently blinded prince.

"something beautiful and unique"

The film is based on an appealing Brothers Grimm fairytale so is relevant to both young and old. Young people, who have never had the chance to see ballet, will get to see it in a new light. It will appeal to cinema going audiences. Those who have seen it on television will get a better experience of dance from a whole other angle. The film is on neutral territory i.e. not about drugs or violence, racial or political problems. It is significant to everyone and an opportunity for people to escape their struggles and experience something beautiful. We are specifically targeting eastern audiences as well as west as ballet has proven to attract record-breaking viewing figures when broadcast in the east.

"This is not ballet filmed as if you are watching it in the theatre. It is not a replacement for a live performance. It is cinematic. We have maintained the fairytale element of the Brothers Grimm story Rapunzel, whilst creating something unique."

Pietra Mello-Pittman, Director
